The Trumpet Awards is a breath of fresh air — literally speaking.  The temperature topped at 34 degrees, in Atlanta, on the day the awards ceremony was taped.  But never the less, being among accomplished professionals in various fields was invigorating.

The Trumpet Awards was created to celebrate and honor African American achievers and those who support the African American experience. The Awards honor accomplishments in diverse fields including law, medicine, business, politics, the Arts, civil rights, sports, entrepreneurship and entertainment.

I’m covering red carpet arrivals.  Although Alexis M. Herman looked stunning in peacock blue, black took center stage. Also popular were lace creations in nude, sheer illusion details, navy blue silhouettes and fur.   Yes, there was fur.

Celebrities, honorees and guests as always were gracious.

It was great to see Terrance “T. C.” Carson.  I still watch episodes of Living Single.

Recording artist Tweet looked fantastic as well. When asked, she announced the release of a new album in February.

Bryshere Gray from Empire smiled and said “it’s cold.”

The 24th Annual Trumpet Awards taping was held on January 23, 2016 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, Atlanta Ga.

Aside from inspiring testimonials is outstanding entertainment.
